#MGCarousel Book Bingo – September & October 2023

How Does It Work?

Our book bingo card contains 25 squares with prompts relating to things from Middle Grade books. Try and cover 5 squares in a line—up, down, or diagonally—or aim to fill the whole sheet if you’re a speedy reader.

Download the graphic, share your reading progress using our hashtag (#MGCarousel) on social media, and have fun! A transcript of the Bingo table is available as well.

Rules

1. All books added to your bingo card should be Middle Grade reads. Find out more about Middle Grade books here.
2. Each square needs to be filled with a unique book. You cannot use the same title more than once on your bingo card, even if it fits multiple themes. Choose wisely!
3. This edition of our Middle Grade Book Bingo challenge runs September 1 through October 31.

Book Bingo Transcript

Squares are arranged in 5×5 formation, making 25 in total. A letter and number indicate their placement:

A to E = horizontal rows, placed top to bottom.
1 to 5 = vertical columns, placed right to left.

Combine the letter and number to find the placement of each square on your Bingo card (example: Square A1 is the leftmost square in the top row.)

• Row A
  1. scissors on the cover
  2. ten-letter word in the title
  3. red & yellow cover
  4. ‘-ed’ word in the title
  5. someone with closed eyes on the cover

• Row B
  1. title begins with the letter ‘L’
  2. ‘many’ or ‘only’ in the title
  3. pennants on the cover
  4. double ‘E’ word in the title
  5. a lantern on the cover

• Row C
  1. one word title
  2. spots on the cover
  3. (center of the board) pick your own prompt
  4. stairs on the cover
  5. jewelry word in the title

• Row D
  1. mirror on the cover
  2. ‘after’ in the title
  3. rainbow on the cover
  4. blue & orange cover
  5. double ‘M’ word in the title

• Row E
  1. ‘-ful’ word in the title
  2. high fantasy
  3. a skull on the cover
  4. someone lying down on the cover
  5. four-letter word in the title
