Play Ball

I wheel myself along the hallway and grab my mask and Dad’s old-fashioned catcher’s mitt from the basket at the bottom of the kitchen cupboard. I put the mitt there after Dad died because I couldn’t stand to look at it anymore, and it wasn’t like I had any use for it. Not until today, anyway. —MASCOT by Antony John
