How Does It Work?

Our book bingo card contains 25 squares with prompts relating to things from Middle Grade books. Try and cover 5 squares in a line—up, down, or diagonally—or aim to fill the whole card if you’re a speedy reader.

Download the graphic, share your reading progress using our hashtag (#MGCarousel) on social media, and have fun! A transcript of the Bingo table is available as well.

Rules

1. All books added to your bingo card should be Middle Grade reads. Find out more about Middle Grade books here.
2. Each square needs to be filled with a unique book. You cannot use the same title more than once on your bingo card, even if it fits multiple themes. Choose wisely!
3. This edition of our Middle Grade Book Bingo challenge runs June 1 – 30.

Book Bingo Transcript

Squares are arranged in 5×5 formation, making 25 in total. A letter and number indicate their placement:

A to E = horizontal rows, placed top to bottom.
1 to 5 = vertical columns, placed right to left.

Combine the letter and number to find the placement of each square on your Bingo card (example: Square A1 is the leftmost square in the top row.)

• Row A
  1. sunset on the cover
  2. ‘under’ in the title
  3. silhouette on the cover
  4. running on the cover
  5. ‘keep’ in the title

• Row B
  1. science word in the title
  2. swimming on the cover
  3. animal word in the title
  4. three-letter word in the title
  5. an author who is new to you

• Row C
  1. set in the summer
  2. ‘up’ or ‘down’ in the title
  3. (center of the board) pick your own prompt
  4. ‘over’ in the title
  5. a uniform on the cover

• Row D
  1. ‘not’ in the title
  2. someone afraid on the cover
  3. key on the cover
  4. ‘dark’ in the title
  5. a shadow on the cover

• Row E
  1. footprints on the cover
  2. seasonal word in the title
  3. sunglasses on the cover
  4. color word in the title
  5. sitting on the cover
