Book spotlight for Middle Grade Carousel February 2023: Something to Sip features the book LEMONS by Melissa Savage.

Life has thrown a lot of lemons at ten-year old Lemonade Liberty Witt. After losing her mom and being moved to live with a grandfather she’s never even met, it’s impossible to find the bright side. Boy next door, Tobin Sky, invites her to be his Assistant at Bigfoot Detectives, Inc. and she reluctantly agrees. There’s nothing better to do in a town that truly believes in a woolly beast lurking in the woods. But their efforts to capture evidence of the cryptid’s existence quickly get out of hand when all clues point to something big.

Calming Ritual

Book Cover: The Creeping Shadow by Jonathan Stroud

I’ve made tea on camping stoves while Specters paced beyond my protective iron chains; I’ve brewed some while watching a Revenant claw itself free of its grave.

Book spotlight for Middle Grade Carousel February 2023: Something to Sip features the book THE LEMONADE WAR by Jacqueline Davies.

Fourth-grader Evan Treski is people-smart. He’s good at talking with people, even grownups. His younger sister, Jessie, on the other hand, is math-smart, but not especially good with people. So when the siblings’ lemonade stand war begins, there really is no telling who will win—or even if their fight will ever end.
